Comics Round Table

Adam Baynard Adam, Comics

Hey everyone and welcome back to another Comics Round Table. I haven’t read too much this week so I won’t be giving any sort of reviews on the books I’ve been reading because some I’m only 4-6 issues deep. But everything I post I recommend so far. I hope you enjoy what I’ve been up to and like always please comment and share what you have been reading.

Gotham Central Written by Ed Brubaker & Art by Michael Lark

This is a book that I’ve wanted to get into for a while now. I’m a big fan of Cop dramas so it makes sense for me to like a Cop drama about the Gotham PD. I like how, even though he’s my favorite, Batman isn’t the key figure. It’s fun to see what the Cops really think of a masked vigilante who is doing their jobs and sometimes doing it better than them. So far the crimes and characters have been interesting. I just finished book #4 and I really enjoy it. If you like Cop or Detective stories you should give this one a shot.

Batman & Robin (2009-2011) Written by Grant Morrison & Art by Frank Quitely

I’ve never been a real big Batman & Robin fan. I like the characters who have been Robin but for some reason I never cared for Batman with a sidekick. Make sense? Probably not and even though this is a book where Bruce Wayne isn’t Batman I’m still liking it. I’ve read the first 6 issues of Batman & Robin and I can’t wait to read more. Damian Wayne, I have always thought was a interesting character and who wouldn’t? He’s the son of Batman! But he’s also reckless, hotheaded, and most of the time a wildcard. You never really know what you’re going to get out of him and I think that’s what I like about him. What really helps this book out is that the art is fantastic and it’s written by the one and only Grant Morrison. If you haven’t checked this series out go give it a shot and let me know what you think.
